    Football news not April fools

Alan Shearer appointed caretaker manager of Newcastle United until end of season and Southampton FC holding company in administration.

I bet Southampton fans are wishing that is an April Fool !!

Appointing Shearer was supposed to be an April Fool, but those dumbasses who run the Newcastle United announced it yesterday by mistake. So now they've got to go through with it to save face.

7 figure bonus if they stay up (which they won't) apparently.

Oddschecker are showing them as 8/1 to win the Championship already.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

If they go down, promotion will not be easy because the Championship is not a place for 'footballing' teams, as Birmingham's and Wolves 'success' proves this season.

The best footballing teams such as Southampton and Norwich are fighting relegation to the first division.

I think you'll find the best teams (i.e. Reading) are fighting for promotion. Southampton are where they are 'cos they don't have as many points. It's maffs, innit!

Southampton are where they are because they're nearly bust.
