The rotting stench of downing street

So one of GB's most senior aides is forced to resign following a leaked smear campaign:

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle6077061.ece

This came right out of number 10. The suggestion by the labour lackey dolly draper that no-one else was involved is frankly ridiculous. That no-one else was expected to read it is also ridiculous. Currently the party and blogging faithful are trying to save Tom Watson and keep Gordon out of it, despite the fact that they attempted to save McBride first thing this morning.

    Fourth term anyone?
"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "

Brown: Not a word, not a word, not a word now. Quiet, uh, Donations. You want me to make a donation to the public sector pension fund.

ContractorUK poster: Brown, I'm from the future. I came here in a time machine that you invented. Now I need your help to get back to the year...1997.

Revealed: e-mails that toppled key Brown aide

Nobody can believe another word that comes out of that party.

I wonder how Brown's moral compass is spinning these days?

There are no depths to which Labour will go when they are desperate. Who now really believes that the scientist committed suicide ? Socialists really are the most hypocritical, depraved members of society.

At least none of their MPs have been found dead after auto erotic asphyxiation dressed in stockings. Crap and delusional maybe but depravity is a Tory specialty.

                    At least he resigned...

But the key part isn't what he did, but

                    a) Whether his actions were harming anyone else. The fact that it was auto- should answer that one - although I feel a bit sorry for his fiance at the time, now a Tory MP.

                    b) Whether there is any hypocracy - did he publicly oppose those kind of actions. I know John Major had his Back to Basics campaign at the time, but I don't know how what this MP (Steven Milligan) had to say about this at the time.

I couldn't care less what MP's get up to in private as long as it doesn't affect the public and there is no hypocracy

So I do take issue with
                    a) John Major having an affair while issuing his Back to Basics campaign.
                    b) John Prescott being chief prosecutor on Tory sleaze, while busily banging his secretary.
                    c) Jackie Smith claiming expenses clearly unrelated to her work as an MP (porno films).

                    etc.
                    etc.

But unless anyone can shed any light on the Stephen Milligan incident (e.g. he charged the stockings to his expense account), his actions rate well below all of these...
