    Career Backstep?

If you were offered a contract on £100 a day more than your current role but had to take a step back in your career would you?

I have been offered a position at £100 a day more as a Junior PM than my current role as a PM. I am torn between the money and my career progression on my CV.

    Thoughts?

Sorry, are you a contractor? I'd always assumed that career progression was for permies. Take the money and run, then lie about it on company advertising (cf cv)

I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt, not that fancy store-bought dirt... I can't compete with that stuff.

There is no career progression, only business growth.

The role is PM. That you'll be reporting to another PM, or working within a "management team" in neither here nor there.

                  What they said!!!

Take the cash and be environmentally friendly on the CV, it takes less ink/toner to print Project Manager than Junior Project Manager.

Very true! The money is so much better!

I am a contractor but each role on my CV is a good step up from the last. It works quite well for me when applying for contracts.

A new car would definitely be welcomed right now! Would anyone when getting a reference really check the actual job title? I personally doubt it but just to double check?
