    All,

I do not have a physics qualification....

Does this have a practical application? - or just a hoax?

      That bloke should join CUK.

Boring, plainly wrong and with little knowledge in the subject.

Not a hoax. Just a delusion. Didn't the bit about UFOs tip you off?

I was going to mention SKA... but was afraid of receiving a summons...

            My thoughts were....

If it was 'that' easy - why build nuclear power stations or drill for oil.

Just nip down to B&Q buy the magnets and set up your own 'Mag - power station' in the shed....

I'll be richer, beyond the dreams of avarice... MMMMMMWWWAAAAA!!!!!

All governed by conservation of energy and momentum. That guy needs to keep moving his hand to keep it spinning forever.

He also needs to add a rod to the "motor" to get it to generate the electricity which will generate friction, which will (in all likelyhood) stop the magnet from spinning...

                  Nah... SKA uses elastic bands.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I thought that - if it worked when the ring was held in a fixed position, that's how he'd be demonstrating it.
