Tried to do The Daily Show with John Stewart but it didn't work out to be anything but a cynical writer ranting.

Was thinking exactly the same. Why isn't Spitting Image on any more? Can you imagine the Gordo puppet eating snot and doing the slack jaw thing?

Instead of the idiot lantern, try Radio 4. You'll find the satire's quietly hiding there.

True, the now show is a podcast fave but they only run for a couple and then bugger off for the summer.

Spitting Image used to get a lot of laughs by portraying the Tory cabinet as a bunch of sycophants with Nazi leanings (Tomorrow Belongs to Me anyone?). It was caricature so we all laughed. But this lot we've got now .........

they've probably banned it. They don't like criticism. They've even banned right-wing American talk show host from UK, and a Dutch member of parliament.
