Single Malt Whisky - 25 Year Old

Anyone got any recommendations? My dad is starting retirement next week and I'd like to get him a bottle...he worked with his last company for 25 years, hence the relevance.

    Budget upto £90ish.

    TIA

The only place I go to for my Whisky. Look up the out-turns for this period, which are.. cask numbers:

        G1.5 @ 24 years £51 "Tantalising opulence"
        39.39 @ 26 years £71 "Fisherman's friend in a bakery"

Nothing at 25 years, but I'm sure they'll have something in stock - you can go for a tasting in the London society before you buy..

Or get him membership as a gift instead of just the bottle.

No help to you but it reminded me of some 20-year-old Macallan that I drank. However 20- or 21-year-old Macalla is a little more than your price, and 25-year-old appears from time to time at Christie's

Oh, you could go through a whole bottle with a friend or two, just arguing about how to handle it .... I had friends in Portree who used to open a bottle and throw the cork on the peat fire, just so that everybody was clear about what was happening.

The scary part is they're out and about driving the next day like nothing happened...
