    The catholic church

What a fine, upstanding and noble institution it is

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "

Very few institutions do not have bad apples. Look at the police. Lawyers. etcetc.

Of course some are institutionally bad. Eastate Agents. MPs.

Most of them don't engage in paedophilia though

It's a tradition that goes back a long time

            The church in Rome!

Who was it who kiddy fiddled while Rome burned?

Well, I haven't seen many investigations of kiddy fiddling estate agents making the news

I think we're only talking about professionals here, or people who are supposed to be fine upstanding members of society. Honest, decent people.

So you won't hear about boy-bothering recruitment agents either.

It's unfair to tar the church because of the actions of some priests. It's unfortunate that perhaps some people took up the cloth as they perceived it as a failsafe way to gain access to children, not for any religious calling. Perhaps it's naivety on the part of the church in believing that man is not evil and has no sins.

What I don't agree on is:

Well over 90% of all Irish primary schools are administered by the Catholic Church in Ireland
The sooner we get all religion out of schools the better. Religious education/brain washing should be the role of the church, not the school.
"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

On them! On them! They fail!
