    Broadband Recommendations

The other half is going to start working from home in December so it's about time we set up broadband and go wireless to make life easier....we have a BT land line installed and were thinking of using either BT or Bulldog.

Must avoid NTL after the trouble we had with them over the last 2 years and not too keen on Telewest as they've been taken over by NTL.

    Any suggestions?

I would make recomendations, but will get flamed for it.
    I will PM you.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

If it's available, Telewest tripple package is your best bet: £25 for 512 broadband, phone and cable TV. Get rid of your BT line saves ~£10. Cable broadband more reliable than ADSL too.

I've had NTL broadband for about 5 years.

Email is very unreliable and slow.
Connection is pretty reliable, with brief outages (a few minutes) every few weeks.

If you want cheap, UK Online do 1MB ADSL with no monthly download limits for £9.99 per month. Pretty good value.

Avoid BT - my firewall lights up like a Xmas tree whenever I hook up to the BT ADSL at work. I was about to switch to Zen ADSL recently, until Telewest gave me 10MB.
