Talk about low as a snake's belly button - "Labour MP claims for church donation"

Labour MP claims for church donation

Labour MP Frank Cook claimed on expenses for a £5 church donation he made at a Battle of Britain memorial service, the Sunday Telegraph reports.
How shamelessly grasping is that? These people just have no idea how to behave

That's pretty impressive even for a politician, disallowed or not it's really taking the pi55.

Solution to be found here: Linky, just add lampost.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I've been espousing the use of lamposts and your linked product for two decades, we can only hope it finally catches on

At least he has admitted it was "a mistake", so we should all cut the guy some slack.

He will probably be sacked now though.

I don't mind that one, if it was a service he was attending officially as an MP rather than as personal recreation. It's only like adding a tip to a company restaurant bill.

Perhaps it is the fact that there are people who seriously can't see what is wrong with this that makes these leaches think they can get away with it?

The most amazing thing about this story is the Fees Office actually refused the claim. That has to be a first.

I find his excuse that it was a mistake more worrying than his initial claim.

If he just admitted that he was a robbing git straight off then I would have more respect for him, the "I'm pissing down your back and telling you it is raining" routine just shows how fa r removed he is from the population he thinks he represents.
