    Who are you?

Having a bit of a mare today. 1st day of contract at a previous client. Its been nearly 2 years since I was here. Lots of people have welcomed me back but I'm struggeling to remember half of them.

    Actually feel a little guilty.

You should tell them that you want to play guess the name. And if you remember their name, you will buy them a drink. Should keep them happy for a while.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

Admit you have forgotten straight away. It gets more embarassing after a few weeks and you are trying not to let on you don't have a clue what their name is.

Make an effort to keep a note of them all so that one day you can call them to see if they can help you to find another contract.

When they ask what youve been up to - tell them loads of stuff and offer to connect to them on linked in so they can see and ask for their email address - Subterfuge is the way forward !
