Government is irrelevant, multi-nationals rule the world

Seems to me as far as the future of countries are concerned, this is true.
Multi-nationals have no loyalty to their country of origin, their job is to make money (something that socialist nationalists like the BNP don't understand).
Hence all the multi-nationals bringing in cheap Indian labour in intra-company transfers.

If this results in the hollowing out of the source country's middle class, multi-nationals don't really give a toss - they can base themselves elesewhere.

Maybe that why government has given up and is enriching itself. It knows it's impotent.
    Hard Brexit now!

You might find it interesting then. It's a series of books (by Kim Stanley Robinson) , set in the near future, about the colonisation of mars. But there's a lot of stuff about trans-national corporations and their rise to power - overriding sovereign nations.

Jerry Pournelle has also written along the same lines - "High Justice".

Have you ever thought of being a sci-fi author?

          I don't really like sci-fi.
Anyway it doesn't take a genius to realise the truth about what's happening in the long run.

In east, they think Multinationals are some sort of new East India Company (aims to control resources of developing and/or 3rd world countries). In west, people think the other way around.

What sort of companies we can categorize as 'Multinational'...

Is it based on company's operations(or customer-base) in different countries or is it based on company's shares(or ownership) controlled by people(or group) from other countries.

If thats the case then in today's world every company which is not public owned is Multinational (including BAA,BT, BP ,BA, National Express etc)
