    Test Scripts

I am not a tester at all, but have been given a task to write a test script (which I haven't done before) can use either QTP or TestComplete.

The script has no GUI element, just needs to rebuild an exe file, go to a parent directory, find input file, and expected outcome file, run the exe file giving it the input file found under the directory as an argument, then running the case, once the case is run, the script should compare expected outcome file to the actual outcome file, and print a report…

Can you help? Or point me to a website that may have free test scripts that I can reuse?

Is this actually a script in the techie sense, or just a list of tests required to run and the expected results?

I'm thinking black-box test for starters - script for the happy path with test files in place. Then whatever unhappy paths you can think of. Expected results for each.

        Did you have a spec?

Sounds like something you can do with a good old fashioned batch file.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
