The outlook for jobs in the UK is bleaker now than it was in the 1990s recession and more like the "deep" recession of the 1980s, the TUC says.
The unemployment rate increased by 30% in the first 12 months of the current recession, compared with 22% in the 1990s and 29% in the 1980s, it says.
This may be true but four buyers are chasing every house for sale, so this time it's different.
