Anyone else thought of having a pad close to where most of your work is likely to be?
Most work these days seems to be in the midlands so I was thinking of a pad in the middle of the country would allow me to commute to most places (including London) and the family could stay during the school hols.
Ideally I would move permenantly, but family ties mean I can't for a good few years, however the mortgage is paid off.
So I was thinking of targetting some of those 2 bed flats that people are desperate to shift, however I wouldn't want to rent it out as I'd need it at the drop of a hat.
Money saved on hotels would go towards it, and it could be a capital investment cos as we know property never goes down etc..
