UK rail enquiries moving to India

"So you would like to book a ticket from Paddington to Penzance sir?"

"Do you want a seat inside with a chicken on your lap, or on the roof with a goat?"

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Rail consumer watchdog Passenger Focus said it would monitor the effect of the call centre move on rail users.

"Passengers care that telephone and other information services are correct, useful and remain free or low cost," said Passenger Focus chief executive Anthony Smith.

"Where they are based is not so relevant."

Is that so hey?!? Bit of a kick in the nads for the folk who work there, big call centre which hopefully will keep other work, but how long before the likes of o2 pull out of there and move to India?

At least you southerners might understand the Indians better than you understand those from Wath-upon-Dearne!

Is this just the CC moving to India or the systems such as Traain Tracker etc??

TT is one of the best natural voice query systems going and it broke new ground when first introduced. There are still very few systems if its type that can come close for usability and elegence.

It would be a shame indeed if these systems went abroad.
