Jobstats - is that an upward turn?

I think the IT job market may have bottomed out but make up your own mind on the shape of the 'total demand for staff' graph:

After almost a year in freefall its high time for a change.

When you reach the bottom you can go no lower.

      No. It is just 'noise'.

It is now July. That graph will continue to go down and then stay flat until September.

      Happy days.

Isn't it just seasonal variations? I expect an upward turn in Sep/Oct : but only due to the time of year.

Steady on...that's verging on being a semi-positive comment. Be careful or your head will explode.

I should go scour through the torygraph for some more doom and gloom stories if I were you.

That little blip upward is what the experts term a "green shoot".

The average rates advertised are: £46/hour
That seems quite high, about £350/day, considering so many people here are on <£300.

It's "advertised" rates not what they really were

I don't think so. Loads of people are complaining of rates being £200-250 on advertised roles right now.
