Life on the bench: in my dressing gown

Yet again, I can't be arsed getting dressed.

    I got up at 6:00 because I couldn't sleep.

I couldn't sleep because I got up at 10:30 yesterday. Then I had a nap in the evening 'cos I was bored.

I got up at 10:30 yesterday 'cos I was drinking until dawn on Sunday night.

At about 8 a.m. today I made a cooked breakfast. That was nice.

And now I'm sat here with the biscuit tin and a mug of cocoa. In my dressing gown.

It's grey and miserable and rainy outside and I've nowhere to go anyway.

I'm doing my job searches on my desktop while drivelling away on here.

Oh, the excitement of it all.

I was going to get in the shower, then dressed but then I read the post about the national debt. That cheered me up. Not. And a 0.1% increase in one day on Jobstats when every other day last month was a decrease is not a positive sign, either.

    Happy days.
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

Go & read the papers in the Public Library... (assuming it hasn't been closed down due to lack of interest or hasn't got any room for newpapers because of all the computers that are so essential these days...)... at least it gets you dressed & out of the house.

Have you thought of joining an opensource project to keep your skills fresh / get new ones?

I liked to watch MASH at 10, X Files at 11 then head out for a spot of lunch to return to watch a movie in the afternoon.

I used to head down to the courts on a Monday morning to see the dreggs that the police had lifted over the course of the weekend in the custody court. Fantastic.

I could be benched for years and never get bored.

If I do that it'll be the pub. If I go to the pub, I won't be back later.

Now that sounds like interesting entertainment.

I got a Django book out of the library a few weeks ago.

                  I didn't learn anything.

But I didn't read it, either.

But I have caught up with my backlog of Viz comics.
