    Habitat

Sometimes I wander (or should I say 'wonder') through Habitat amazed at the prices of their goods (or should I say 'bads'). Do people buy stuff there for the art rather than quality or something? For example how do they sell a self assembly cupboard that looks like tat for ~£1000 and where the display model is already knackered? It's good fun playing trying to guess the prices, but I am still usually out by an order of magnitude when I guess.

Generally speaking, I think they are pretty overpriced... upmarket Ikea type IMO.

Although, we did see 2 really nice pictures in there the other day!

The list didn't just include stuff from John Lewis?

They sell some very very nice stuff. Our bed and bedroom furniture comes from there. The bedside tables are particulary nice : they are "S" shaped so you get 3 standing sutfaces.

                  'SHabytat'

I bought an oak table from them.

An end joint split on one side of the surface after 5 years of desk usage.

                  I made an enquiry.

Sales manager said - what do you expect its 5 years old.

I said - a lot more its oak.

                  It wasn't cheap.

                  Shabby tat.
