Are you wasting your life? decide what you really want to do and go and do it.

I am trying, but I guess perseverance is the name of the game.

Better to have tried and failed - and all that.

The usual story. Told one thing at the interview and a completely different story on the ground.

Luckily the contract ends in December.

Oh and it's £400/day for having a tulip, so not so bad.

Sounds like my contract. Haven't been this bored since I had a summer job sorting letters for Royal Mail.

I didn't realise that there was only so much surfing the net that one could do, I've found the limit and don;t know what to do now - more coffee me thinks!

I'm so bored where I am and have read the entire internet, may even put it through a spellchecker next to pass the time. Still this contract ends on Friday

...you walk out half way through, giving the poor sods a weeks notice.

                    DP,

I am the same in my current contract. In fact, seeing a great message on this board in the highlight of my day. Oh well. I have thought of a few things to brighten the days:

                    - learn a new skill on line. It looks like you're doing some work so no one will think you're not working. I am re-learning Java at the moment. I also did it in a previous contract, learnt MySQL and PHP at client's expense and used it in my next contract!
                    - write an application that every second displays how much you have earned so far during the day instead of a clock. That's what I have done using in MS Access. Killed a couple of hours and now instead of counting the seconds I can count the pennies.
                    - get an online broker and trade on line. No need to invest lots, just a few £100s and keep selling and buying and make a little money every time. Makes the day go so much faster
                    - ... can't think of anything else but I'm sure there's loads more
                    Chico, what time is it?
