    Woodstock

Watched the new DVD last night - awesome. Anyone seen it? There's a whole load of extra performances - Greatful Dead, Creedence Clearwater, Mountain plus other performances from the acts on the original version.
Shame they didn't cut out Joan Baez though.

Funnily enough, it's the 40th anniversary of said festival in a few days time strange the media have been so quiet about it.

Did they have a token system and machines that pour 20 pints in 10 seconds?

Festivals would be hell without modern technology and they're a fraction of the size of Woodstock, IOW etc.

They must have been easily pleased in those days.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

      A new DVD - or is this a re-release?
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Kind of both. You get the original DVD plus another DVD with another load of performances. The extra DVD isn't edited like the original though - it's just the performances themselves.

I listened to a Radio 4 presentation on Woodstock.

At the time it wasn't seen as the mega event that it was, infact it was a bit of a feck up. Most of what is "woodstock" is actually a woodstock myth that has been built up since the event.

True, most of the bands (except Hendrix) couldn't have got arrested back then. I think it was the Who's first bif US gig and the first time Santana had ever played to a large crowd. Apparently, at the time, the biggest name on the bill was Creedence & they didn't even make it on to the film.
