    Properly democratic MPs

If you had the choice to vote for somebody (as an MP) who promised to take account of the constituencies views before voting in the house, would you vote for them?

I guess it would work by means of an online poll - if 30% of the constituency vote on a particular issue then the MP would be bound to vote with the majority of voters. If there was no quorum of constituents, or a tie then the MP would have the casting vote according to his or her conscience.

No, unless he's a contrarian. I work on the assumption that 90% of voters are idiots, so I'd prefer an MP who knows which people he should listen to on each area of policy.

      That's a very good point. One I hadn't considered.

You'd have to tie it into the electoral roll.

Intelligence is an overrated thing. Voters may not be very bright but I am betting that this scheme would deliver more sensible and workable policies. Go with human nature as it is, not how you would like it to be.

Ok, you can vote in person.
