    John Cleese divorce settlement

    http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/18082009/...ce-bill-0.html

She will get more than half of his wealth. She has done no work for years, did not claim to have put anything into his career, and did not give up her career to help his (she just gave up working because she could). Now her claim is based on the level of wealth that she has become accustomed to.

How does it come about that Cleese does not get to keep the level of wealth that he has become accustomed to, and earned, in order to keep someone else in that position, even if he has to work the rest of his life to pay for her, while she has never earned such wealth herself?

He probably agreed to it just so that he didn't have to listen to her nagging anymore

Whenever a man says "I've never paid for sex", he's lying. We all do eventually.

Why is anyone suprised by this?

Maybe Mr Cleese could do something to try changing the law.

              But he wont.

The man is a god, so in my eyes can do no wrong. His wife is therefore clearly in the wrong and should be soundly thrashed forthwith (along with her lawyer and the judge).

Favourite Cleese moment....collecting his Bafta - speech consisted of "and about f***ing time". Brilliant!

Well his latest divorcee wife he apparently rescued her from a life in a Council flat in London and she had 2 kids from a previous relationship.

Some women pretend to be anything to escape poverty, perhaps men should learn to marry women at or above their wealth level (which unfortunately would mean a 0.0001% daily chace of getting a sh*g).
