    Has it really been 20 years?

    Sure everyone loves the era they grew up in, but I always figure I had it great - I got the tail end of punk, the birth of hip hop and indy and turned 18 just as the rave scene kicked off.

    I spent that summer in London working before heading to Uni, then got the a bunch of the first raves in Scotland after the summer of love in London, result!

    I loved those early raves, it was all about the music (The drugs helped, but for me then that was nowhere near the main thing), the randomness of it all, shared empathy and making mates everywhere, the edge because of the illegality etc.

    happy days.

    Does this mean I'm now old?

          We are old. Man I hate that, but what can you do. At least I have enough money to pay for my wife whilst she finishes her A-Levels

            Umm, in London I went to a couple of sunrises and some other I canny remember - Scotland I went to the first SLAM's, plus a couple of one off well dodgy ones - one in Paisley and one in Falkirk I think ...

            Actually made it onto telly at a sunrise, there was a documentary on illegal raves, and they were showing footage and they do a sweeping crowd shot, and as they scan the crowd there's me bang in centre of frame for a few secs, hands in the air, fag hanging out my mouth grooving to the music.
