Serious question here.

It's often said that spouses get to look like each other and that siblings are almost like clones.
I always put this down to behavioural imitation, but I wonder .....????


is it conceivable that genetic messages can be passed between mature adults in a species, through touch, and incorporated into anothers genetic makeup ??????

It is conceivable but v.v. improbable. How would this 'mutation' propogate through out each of your cells for instance?

The more rational explaination is that you select a spouse that looks like you.

Your intial post suggested that they develop to look like each other?
Yes I have heard that - but don't believe it is true. If it were true (have had to add a few factors together here) I would now be a 6ft ginge with blue eyes.

If you were locked up in one of those Victorian asylums for a number of years then you would probably catch something.

However, the modern day equivalents mean it would only take a couple of months.
