    The Prisoner

I see this has been re-made.

Although the original was a bit before my time have heard good things about it over the years.

The remake looks quite interesting in its own right and Sir Ian McKellan looks quite menacing.

Hope it lives up to expectations.

It's a bit far fetched don't you think? I mean all that CCTV in just one beach resort in Wales?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

When does Ian McKellan start singing "Dem bones... dem bones...".
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

        Oh dear....

Did they have to wait for Pat M to die before the made / released it?

I seem to recall they did a one off remake of it back in the 80s with Jools Holland as the prisoner & Stephen Fry as the creepy guy,was pretty good but never repeated AFAIK

If I remember correctly, that was a spoof on the show he used to present with Paula Yates - The Tube.

He swore on live TV and got sacked, but they brought him back due to the protests that ensued.

I have a bad feeling about this.

Whenever the yanks remake a British classic they invariably cock it up.

The Prisoner wasn't a yank FFS!

Look what they did to The Italian Job.

Why can't they keep their greasy Hollywood paws off our classics?

(oh, maybe because they've run out of original ideas)

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Not that I saw it but I would imagine that the remake of the Pink Panther would be a case in point. I normally quite like Steve Martin but nobody is fit to fill Peter Seller's role in those films IMO.

Pretty much spot on. It was awful.
