    Fireplace fitter rates plan B

Think I've just found my plan B, bought a new fire place surround, marble hearth and new gas fire over the internet, Ive already taken the old one out new one should slot in. Thought I could get a plumber / gas engineer to do the fitting but they weren't interested, rang fireplace shops weren't interested as I bought off the net, found a guy online who only fits fires, he has quoted me £400 cash for an approx 3.5hr job, says he usually charge £500 per job and does 2 jobs a day, says he has a niche as the moment and he does seem to !

Having removed, refurbished and refitted 4 fireplaces whilst renovating my own house I have the skills for this.
Problem is that house renovation has stopped due to a lack of credit so it is likely to be a shrinking market.

BTW. Anybody need a slate fire surround?
