TV Channel + 1 : why?

"If they are showing programs from an hour ago, shouldn't it be -1?"

I've never thought of it that way.

Unfortunately the answer, "Because most people are to fraking thick to understand" isn't good enough.

I's because if you miss the start of a show, you can watch it again at OriginalStartTime + 1

There does exist Dave+2 and I think it's called Dave ja vu ja vu, I'm sure I saw that on a TV guide somewhere.

+1 is obviously correct. Take the time in the TV listing and add one to know when it starts on +1.
