When assigning ITIL v2 roles, what roles should not be assigned to a single person within the Service Support area?

You can assign anything to anyone provided they have a clear understanding of what each role entails.

But usually I would have problem separated from incident management.

In fact I would have problem separated from anything.

I like my Problem Managers to have thick skins as they'll probably be arguing with Incident Managers and Change Managers (and most other people) at some point during the day/week/year...

Although on re-reading your post I might have misunderstood your question.

How big is your team? How established are your processes? How experienced are your people?

Well at the moment we have one team member doing all roles!! Processes are quite immature and the potential team is quite inexperienced.
        Fantastic recipe for success?

That young person* has got far too much work to do unless they're running Cojak's IT infrastructure of 1 SOHO network, one desktop and 2 PCs...

*because no-one older would be daft enough to agree to it...

Of course an experienced Service Management consultant would help and train them to get the most out of Service Management.... (part of which would be ITIL...)

I don't think marriage is a qualification for any ITIL role
