    Christmas Break

Me and SY02 are agreed a Christmas break is in order. I have worked all year and not had a holiday (not that I am complaining, it's great to have money coming in)

We have SY05 who will be 6 months so don't want to go abroad. I want to go away on 27th Dec and come back 1st or 2nd Jan. Not a lot of these holiday sites cater for those dates.

Can anyone recommend somewhere quiet, yet traditional to go for a break? I'm thinking a nice castle or cottage, or somewhere center parc-ish.

I put it to the panel.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

Rent a cottage in the Peak District. It is beautiful and relaxing.

Best christmas wife and I ever had was in a rented wooden shack in the Lakes.

      Wonderful. It snowed and everything!

Trudged 2 miles in snow to nearest pub and we were the only ones in there. Landlord regaled us with tales of woe about how nobody came to the pub anymore. It has since closed and been turned into a residence. Bugger!

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Myself and Mrs Woo are leaving sunny Swindon for Sharm on xmas eve. Can't you put your kid with foster parents for a week and get some xmas sun?

                Or take him with you.

Sharm has the most culturally child-friendly atmosphere I've seen.

I've seen 3 hotel workers (all men) take turns to keep a 3 year old amused for an hour while the hassled parents tried to sort out missing luggage.

The compassion, patience and focus they displayed was I'm sure as good as they gave their own kids.

All of this was without payment (and if you've been to Sharm you'd understand that comment..)

Egyptians love all kids - nice and not so nice
