He's not black. :eyes

IMO, it's just that he's the first non-white POTUS.

Yeah, next we'll hear that the one-eyed Scottish twunt has won the Nobel economics prize

Nobel prizes have been devalued. There's even one for literature and one for economics FFS. Maths, Physics and Chemistry only surely?

I didn't see that coming ...

I thought the thread title was a joke :eekSo did I.

Did he get it because he made Israel stop being horrid to the Palestinians? Or for pulling out of Afghanistan?

Or is it simply for not declaring war on Iran yet?

It's pre-emptive wishful thinking. If they'd given it to Bush early in 2001 we'd all be much better off.

I suspect the latter. The prize is an incentive perhaps?

Let's see if he lives long enough to collect...

I wonder what he's going to do with the prize money...

I'm not sure he's allowed to keep the money for himself.

Why not?

Zippy

Why not?

The US has strict rules about what the President can accept. I think it's a bit like the Queen not being allowed to keep all those racehorses because they belong to the nation.

Am I wrong?

Did he get it because he made the Palestinians stop being horrid to the Israelis byfiring hundreds of rockets and using suicide bombers against innocent cvilians?

Peace?

Is that "double speak"?

SuperZ

What a crock of cra*p
I read briefly that he was nominated a few days before he took over also, because that was when nominations had to be in by.

He has hardly had time to prove himself. The whole world is fixed :)

There is no nobel prize for maths

It will make it harder for him to start a new war - which is precisely the idea behind it: ounce of prevention etc.

There is not but I am sure Nobel's invention will have killed someone in the time it took to type this post by an army headed by the chap that just won the peace prize.

Yes, that was their thinking, give him the prize to stop him bombing Iran.
