BBC trumpeting 88,000 extra people out of work as good news

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8306212.stm

The latest official UK unemployment figure has risen once again, but the rate of increase has slowed.

Unemployment increased 88,000 to 2.47 million in the three months to August, from the three months to May. The jobless rate rose to 7.9% from 7.6%.

The rise in the number of unemployed was the lowest since July 2008, said the Office for National Statistics.

    Some facts behind the figures:

"The number of people in public sector employment was 6.04 million in June 2009, up 13,000 from March 2009.

The number of people in private sector employment was 22.85 million, down 230,000 from March 2009."

So GB is just creating more non-jobs and putting the cost on the tab.

So, if you add up people on benefits who are effectively unemployed, then total unemployment is easily over 10% of UK workforce?
