    Talking of time machines...

    ..something thingie here said.

Physicists say you can't travel back in time and kill your grandfather, but you can go back and save him from being hit by a bus and killed.

Therefore, you can go back in time and invent the timemachine.

Theoretical physicists say a new alternate universe is created every time anyone makes a decision.

I think God is more plausible.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Are you sure of that? Oh here we go, another bloody universe! Probably full of immigrants as well.

Depends on the interpretation. I kinda like the Copenhagen Interpretation which basically says that this is a load of maths that fits the results, where you're looking, but it ain't reality. Whatever else is going off, especially where you're not looking, is something other.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Gordon Brown hasn't created many universes lately then.

There is an equal and opposite theory that the universe hates entropy, and does all it can to keep things simple. Hence no alternates are possible

Wouldn't that mean, that if someone went back in time they could never go back to their future? Due to the multiply decisions they made during their visit? Wouldn't they have created their 'own' alternate future?

Each alternate reality is played out blissfully ignorant of the others, think of it as a tree with each branch representing a decision, going back in time just creates another branch with more branches... I told you God was more plausible.
