One of the best songs ever.....

Hazel O'Connor - Will You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJSqcvAQ8l8)I'll see your 'Will You' and raise you a 'Nothing Compares (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO8JWbG6bVw&feature=fvw)'. It's not rocky, but gives you a chance to mellow out, get your head-banged brain back in order, and see how hypnotically beautiful a woman can be without a posh frock, heavy make-up, or big hair, but armed with emotion.

We men stand no chance; there is no defence.

We certainly don't need the gentle Kate Bush song "Army Dreamers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWdHOm256N4&feature=related)", especially immediately after the 11th Nov.

And Wuthering Heights (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv0azq9GF_g) (which had me running for the privacy of my bedroom as a yoof) now seems rather quaint. And in no way is that 'rocky' either so it also does not warrant posting in this thread.

Most of these songs selected were sung before voice editing software became very sophisticated too. I expect most of you know more about this than I, but I saw it being used on TV not long ago. It was stunning what could be done, a song sung out of tune could be enhanced to be made pitch and beat perfect, note by note, as well as adding other enhancing effects to it.

You may as well have posted "Glad to be Gay".

Nonsense (no pun intended..)

Glad to be Gay was completely angst ridden.

2 4 6 8 is just a good old romp.

Now War Baby - that was Drame Queen stuff... :happy

Valid suggestions and amazing it got to page 6 before any Kate Bush. Up the game a tad with Babooshka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot3cVY1JESQ&feature=related).

Bangles - Walk Like an Egyptian was a serious contender.

Most of these songs selected were sung before voice editing software became very sophisticated too. I expect most of you know more about this than I, but I saw it being used on TV not long ago. It was stunning what could be done, a song sung out of tune could be enhanced to be made pitch and beat perfect, note by note, as well as adding other enhancing effects to it.It sounds like the technology has come on some way.

In the early 1990s I was friendly with a bloke doing a music technology degree. He worked on some outside projects and told me about one studio session where he took a break in the communal area only to find the engineer from a neighbouring studio sitting with his head in his hands.

In the other studio they had Gail and Gillian (is it? - the twins from Neighbours at the time) and had to record the song word by word so that it could be "corrected" by the pitch shifter.

Back to the thread, my idea of a "babe" seems to differ from most other blokes :laugh but for me, a small dark haired woman making a load of noise by herself with an electric guitar fits the bill.

Combine that with the fact that she has a west-country accent and this is the sexiest woman on the planet.
