Young people should take up identity cards as a "convenient" way of proving their age in nightclubs and bars, a Home Office minister has said.

Meg Hillier said the cards would also make it easier to prove identity at the post office when picking up parcels.

WTF? Is that the best she could come up with? Absolutely anything with your name is good enough for the PO.

The governments argument 'for' is quite pathetic.

Just go to a pub, where there will be loads of them lying around in pools of vomit/wee.

Funnily enough, that was part of her hilarious argument - that when you have lost it (in a bar), it'll be cheaper to replace than a passport.
The lying bastard also repeated the lie that fingerprints are a requirement for international travel they aren't.

Yeah, people with no hands have to holiday in Bognor. It's the law.
