    Windows 7

    Is it any good?

I have been running Vista with no issues at all, do not really need an upgrade its just that I can get it for £30 via student thing, but only untill May.

So do I ignore it & wait for 8 (whenever that is) or get 7 now?

Thank you for sensible comments & for the rest of you

If you already running Vista, then all your drivers should work straight away, so you shouldn't get any issue.

I'd say go for it. Quick to install and a lot quicker to run than Vista.

      WHS.

I binned Vista for XP a while back, tried 7 the other week and have now converted several machines to 7.

Vast improvement over Vista and for £30 I'd say it's well worth it.

Install not at all tricky and so far it's been thoroughly satisfactory.

Sounds like your scenario is the same as mine - don't need it but am going to upgrade anyway.

At that price, tis a no-brainer.

Windows 7 is definitely faster than Vista. The only issue I had was with the Intel wireless driver but thats now resolved.

A word of warning on the upgrade if your hardware is a bit obscure or old (think cheap chinese motherboard no longer supported).

I upgraded one PC from Vista to Windows 7.

The built in network adapter, cheap video card, usb subsystem, SATA controller all failed to be recognised, turning that PC into a useless brick.
