tearing my hair out with.... apache

    morning all,

working on open some .net applications to the InterWeb

what a nightmare, anything outside the intranet is a nightmare

Internet Explorer -> Internet -> Client's Internet GateWay -> a zillion proxies and reverse proxies and security zones, a zillion authentications.... -> and then finally the request will get to my reverse proxy that I have to configure infront of the .net system

is the request getting to my apache, don't think so, where's it getting lost, dunno, working with a zillion different teams all with different procedures and methods of working - lots of fun

guess there's bucks in this kind of stuff cos it's damn complicated :-)

It's ok Milan. What you need to do is the following:

Get some stickers and write .NET on some, and Apache on the others.

Then when you've finished changing your tapes, just put the appropriate label on each.

And the moral of the story is:

It will take a while to sort out a zillion proxies...when you only need one!

Spock: "Trained? Judging from you, I would have guessed it was trial and error."

not when you work with infrastructure of a blue chip company which has strict tight security and like I said, a zillion proxies and firewalls in between the internet and the .net systems

layers and layers of security, multiple demiliarised zones

                    Don't think so?

Look in Apache's log, then you'll know.
