Contractor awarded MBE for services to IT

I was going to ask who on here was guilty of this... then I realised my error

    When I read this:

"That included creating a proof of concept application tool and biometric system, both of which were subsequently rolled out globally. The tool is now live in 149 countries.

He also designed and developed the agency’s Central Reference System, a secure online searchable database that lets visa applicants be vetted by officials overseas."

My first thought was - how on Earth such a job can warrant an MBE? But then I realised - compared to other IT projects this was very successful and probably very cheap...

According to LinkedIn he's been there for over 9 years.
I hope HMRC conducted a full investigation before he was awarded his MBE

Pah! Permies there get an MBE just for being on the payroll for 9 years.

surely all you need for a home network is a wireless router?
Or am I over simplifying the definition of a network?

Perhaps he means a rail network. In a purpose-built shed.

                  You're quite right of course. Let me expand;

...the type who spends their weekends upgrading their servers at home.
...the type who wants to show you their new iphone app
...the type who get excited with the release of windows whatever
...the type who bang one out every night after hours of call of duty

A sizeable majority of this self-important industry, imho...

As I'm bored I thought I'd see which add-ons firefox users are, er, using.

                    I'll start:
                    tabrenamizer
                    forecastfox
                    foxmarks
                    SSLBlacklist
                    Tab popup
                    adblock-plus
                    colorfultabs
                    fireftp
                    flagfox

And my theme is pimpzilla - which is nice!!

Here's the thing; I have all my music in itunes on my powermac. I have speakers attached and they are nice and loud. For my New Years Party, I want speakers in other areas of the house and I want to play the music through all the speakers at the same time. So I'm looking for some wireless speakers that are 802.11g compatible, itunes compatible and ones where I push the audio to them rather than select what I want to play from them (if that makes sense).

Anyone know of any suitable speakers?
