    CV format

What sort of response are you other benchees getting from your CV.

So far, I have had a couple of returned calls, although sometimes just a fishing expedition, but nothing in terms of an interview as yet.

I now it is a bit tough out there at the moment but was getting a bit worried about the contents and layout of the CV. My layout is:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    NAME (AT TOP)

    PERSONAL DETAILS
    -Age, etc.

    KEY SKILLS
-bulleted list of skills picked up along the way - quick to view, most important at the top to least important.

    EDUCATION
    -bulleted list of education.

    CAREER HISTORY
-again bulleted chronological list (most recent first) of previous jobs with sub-bulleted lists of tasks/responsibilities/packages/technologies used.

    REFERENCES
-YEA RIGHT - GO SCREW MR AGENT (AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST).

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

I've tried to keep it concise as I seem to remember this is prefered with respect to contract roles. It is 2 pages exactly in length.

Is this the sort of layout you tend to go for? Any comments about the layout? Should I include, for example hobbies, or is that just for permies?

I know its early days being a green benchee and all, but the lack of response is worrying.

Any pisstaking gladfully accepted based on this being a pisspoor and simplistic question - just wanted to make sure I am not missing out something obvious, and I am preempting as I know what you lot are like.

    Name

    Key Skills

Career History - achievements and responsibilities

    Education

    Memberships and qualifications

£50 note stapled to the bottom

Career history goes above education - easier for the pimp to scan through it for bullet points.

I would put hobbies if they are stunning. Like wxman, he has the most amazing story.

Mine are - Tornado pilot, stand up comedian and Origami

        (\__/)
        (>'.'<)
("")("") Born to Drink. Forced to Work

I have put EDUCATION in the end
Nobody is interested in that even if you degree in rocket science

Nothing interesting, actually really boring, beermaking, DIY, cycling.

Do you think I should put the fact that I'm from Brummagem to prepare them for the phonecall also?

but again, like hobbies, someone might get interested
there is a little scintilla of a chance that the interviewer did rocket science, or that he went to the same uni.
It's never happened so far(to me), but I hold out the hope that it may get me a job at least once

Worked at a place once where one bloke was called delboy. Found out later it was because he had tried del *.* on the test rig results folder to see if it worked. It was an aerospace testing facility.
