    Inglorious Basterds

    Watched it last night.

    Wasn't worth the effort.

If you are a huge Tarantino fan then watch it, otherwise no.

Acting is poor. Plot is tenuous at best. Action is mediocre. Humour more or less non-existant.

Saying that, don't take my word for it, it's only £12 in Asda atm. Just don't say I didnt warn you.

Not all his fault though. His was just one bad performance in an ensemble of sub par mediocrity.

Haven't seen it, but the original (in English, despite its title) wasn't bad.

            Quel maledetto treno blindato (1978)

(I bought it thinking it was the remake.)

(and no, the title wasn't a bit of a giveaway because it was called "Inglorious Bastards" and made to look like the remake!)

I quite enjoyed it, one of Tarantino's more grown up efforts

Is it better than Reservoir Dogs?

                    I preferred Reservoir Dogs.

However if you like Tarantino then Inglorious Basterds is well worth watching. Personally I felt the acting was good, especially Christoph Waltz.

He's brilliant at building tension and there are some fine examples in this flick, his imagery in some parts was sublime and ofcourse there is the usual over the top, shock violence. Overall though its not on a par with his best, and I'm not sure his films work that well in a World War Two setting.
