The Trade Winds - culture corner

What a nice relic from a bygone age of sailing ships, wooden ships and iron men, becalming and strange new exotic places.
Did you know the monsoon is not a pile of heavy rain in the east. Its the name of a wind. And with the wind comes the rain.

And thats the reason why I am posting here in culture corner, are there any other winds that have a name ? and what's their story ?

        Maria.

        Paint Your Wagon.

"And they Called the Wind Maria"

        They Call the Wind Maria.

And apparently Mariah Carey was named after that song so she must have been a right smelly baby. And they spelled her name wrongly.
