Can you appeal council tax while renting?

A two-bed house we're looking at renting in Durham is in band E. The banding is based on 1991 values but the property didn't exist back then, however that's a pretty high band IMO. I'd guess the property is valued just over £200k right now.

Boring subject, but does anyone know if you can appeal as a tenant against council tax banding on a property you rent?

That's the job for the landlord - ask them to do it and/or give you discount, or move away: high end properties ain't easy to rent out.
