What was your first career choice?

I remember one long hot summer training to be an Entomologist.

I gave it up as a bad job.

Every insect I looked at through my magnifying glass, burst into flame
Confusion is a natural state of being

      Astronaut

I must have had some success as I’m always being asked, “What planet are you on?”
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

When I was at school I fancied being a police forensic scientist or working for the forestry commission.

Did astronomy at uni but ended up doing research in hypersonics at a well known place that had a great airshow every couple of years. Gave it up and became a pro musician, turned IT from a hobby to a career.

I loved astronomy but I never considered a career in it. I didn't know of any jobs in it. I was scared of heights anyway.

For as long as I can remember, I've never really known what I wanted to do. Even now, at the age of 43, I still have no idea. All I know is that it isn't what I'm doing now (or would be doing if I wasn't on the bench).

That was always the problem, you had to be tulip hot to get anywhere but I was getting more interested in the primitive IT systems and how to program so never pursued it as a career.

I was going to go into Astrology but I couldn't see any future in it.
