    Notarized signatures

I need to have someone reasonably official to witness signature that I put to a document, are there notary services in this country that do such a thing?

Any solicitor should do what you want.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Can I just walk in basically to solicitors to do that witnessing of signatures?

We've got company solicitors but they are closed over Festive period

As far as I know, yes. Maybe give 'em a call first. You'll need Id 'n' all that.

I've never had to do it in a panic. You're normal guys not around on Tuesday?

It's not panic, just want to finish it off before new year - the document is fully ready (prepared by rather expensive lawyers).

Anyway thanks, I'll give it a go next week, hopefully some lawyers are working in this country...

The Notarized lot are a rip off. All solicitors have to witness documents for £5. I went to one city big firm solicitor and got one of my divorce papers done for a £5 : it was a great laugh watching him cry.

But Notarized get round the law by charging £5 per page. Its a disgrace.

I went to a small town solicitor. He thought he was doing great for getting £5 for 5 minutes work.

I hadn't the heart to tell him.

Yeh solicitor. It was only a few £ from memory although I didn't have to pay it, I made a statement on behalf of somebody else.

ta chaps - looks like solicitors can't charge more than fixed fee for that then? Maybe I should walk into the most expensive one then ...
