    The Importance of Reading

    It's just off the M4...

If it wasn't for Reading, there'd be nothing inbetween Slough and Swindon.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I keep seeing job ads for "London, England" then when reading the spec it's actually in Reading

"..The position is in Reading, Berkshire, about 6 minutes walk from Reading station. That makes it an easy commute from London Paddington (about 30 minutes travel time, fast trains every 15-20 minutes) .."

      hmm

Lived in Reading 1990 - 1994. Only thing it had going for it was an excellent Blackwells, and good rail links.
        The vegetarian option.

The other good thing going for it.... it's not London.
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.

            . . . or High Wycombe! Now that's a spectacularly grim place.

I prefer the travel lodge on the M4.
I've lived there for months at a time.
How do I get out of contracting?

Reading's pretty good. Nice pubs/restaurants/shops, some attractive architecture, river through the middle for nice walks, paddles, cycles, and you're a stone's throw from some lovely countryside. Decent schools too (if you can get into them.)
