Possibly, depends on when and where. Any suggestions.

cojak
18th January 2010, 11:54
The Vat and Fiddle in Nottingham (almost) opposite the train station.

Sells real ale, cheese and onion cobs (big ones) and everything...

AtW
18th January 2010, 11:55
It's got to be in Birmingham - it's near train station also! :mad

Once you hear Big SKA News later this month you'd agree :smokin

RichardCranium
18th January 2010, 11:56
The Vat and Fiddle"VAT" & "fiddle"? For a contractor's met-up?

:rollin:

:yay:

If you had legal firearm the story would be different - "Last gang in Brum gunned down by a law abiding citizen, good riddance!" :eyes

Or the Brunswick Inn (http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/27/2725/Brunswick_Inn/Derby) in Derby, almost as close to Derby train station as the Vat is to Nottingham's...

(And it's another real ale pub..)

May I suggest that once the details are firmed up you edit the first post of this thread with the date, time and venue? And then keep it up to date if it changes? Such details often get buried in the middle of the thread as it moves on to beer, kebab and technicolour yawn reviews.

...hmmm.

A Friday would allow for the nursing of serious hangovers (not a problem for us benched folk, obv... :ohwell).

Not sure what others think of this suggestion..

I'd prefer a Friday, from the tales of previous events I'm liable to need the Saturday to recover ( or possibly get home :eek )

NickFitz

Also, it would be good if we can make the date definite ASAP, so that folk such as myself can get the cheap train fares before they run out.

OK a provisional time.

Friday 5th Feb at 7:30 at the VAT and Fiddle.

I don't want to come across as a bossy-boots here but seems to be what people need to be able to come.

I will also update the title of the thread with the date.

Looking forward to it.

To be honest there are other trains back to Manchester, but it would mean changing and I dont fancy that after a few dry sherries!
If it was in the centre of Brum, I'd have no problem. Or I could always drive, and remain sober - I'm sure I could do that :laugh
