For old car buffs: The Bugatti found in the Swiss lake - interesting story twist

old car buffs amongst us might have heard of the Bugatti found in a Swiss lake that had been lying there for 70 years

said car has just been auctioned in Paris for a couple of hundred grand

interesting twist to the story however,

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/...o-restore.html

'Since the Bugatti broke the surface of Lake Maggiore in 2009 it has been making waves in another way – it has emerged that a car in a Japanese collection bears the identical chassis number.

Clearly someone has some explaining to do.
