Blair set to cave in on school reforms

TONY BLAIR is preparing to water down his controversial education plans next month in response to fierce opposition from critics within his party, including the Deputy Prime Minister.

    The Times

Which single word best describes Tony Blair?

    Spineless
    Incompetent
    Weak
    etc... etc...

And watch Cameron make the most of it - "Will the Prime Minister explain why these vital reforms, which even we were prepared to support, will not now go ahead?" etc., etc., etc...

5 to 1 Cameron saw it coming, BTW
      Blog? What blog...?

Pick any of them they are all trying to compete for accuracy in describing him.

Blair had a small opportunity to leave a legacy over the public sector retirement age ... he backed down and coward away from the conflict

Then he had another opportunity with the education reforms - yet again he's started cowaring away from it.

He thought that Europe might have been his legacy. But just like every other PM stepping into the job very pro Europe, experience soon persuades them to mend their ways.

Sorry Blair, the only legacy you'll be remembered for is still that old chestnut ... Iraq. Maybe that'll come good for you in 2006. But for how long ?

FINALLY there is light at the end of the tunnel with respect to getting Blair removed from office. The Tories needed a wake up call after being in power for so long, but its unfortunate it has lasted this long. Time for a change and I think Cameron is the one to do it! Lets all hope so!
