    Pizza gets EU trademark status

WTF! BBC: Naples pizza makers celebrate EU trademark status

Now, in general HAB is in favour of these protected name things like champagne and the variates of cheeses. But pizza!

In that case, we need to protect the name Balti as only being made in Bradford (or wherever its was) and it has to be served in a bucket. It's only fair.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

it can only be considered a genuine Glasgow kiss if at least 1 litre of Buckfast was consumed prior to impact

Also happening on beer "styles", albeit in another part of the world.

          Drinky Linky

One of DB’s subsidiaries, Monteith’s, specialises in producing beers that capitalise on European styles and traditions. It brews a bock, a strong German-style lager. In recent years it has added an Austrian and German style called radler as well as saison, based on a famous Belgian beer style.

Nothing wrong there, you might think: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But DB and Monteith’s have slapped trademarks on Radler and Saison. This means that a smaller Kiwi brewery can no longer call its beer “radler” while Belgian brewers of saison can’t export their brands to New Zealand.

LOL this is funny!! The picture of the guy in a chav cap says it all!!! Stange that no one actually says it is mentioned in 5,638 crimes because most crimes are commited by thieving chav twats who can't afford anything else to get pissed. Simples. Why does it take time and money to work that one out.

We probably have the same in the UK but it doesn't sound as impressive being assaulted by a two litre plastic bottle of White Lightning

Protected status for the "Neapolitan pizza", not pizza in general. Seems fair enough.
