    Data Modeller? Really???

Data Modeller/Data Analyst - Immediate Start Contract

Data Modeller/Data Analyst - Wolverhampton - Up to £10.00 per hour

My West Midlands client urgently requires an experienced Data Modeller/Data Analyst for an initial 2 months. The ideal candidate will have a data entry background and be comfortable working in an IT environment. You will have strong logical, critical thinking skills and good attention to detail/high degree of accuracy. The majority of the modelling work is carried out in Excel, so a good basic knowledge of Excel is essential (although the spreadsheet themselves have already been set up and configured. The role is a mixture of both data inputting and checking, although there is a large amount of data input, this isn't just a standard data input roll as the data modeller may be analysing various sources of information in order to decide where the data needs to be input and also make a determination about whether there are any rules associated with the feature being input and if so would also need to model these rules. There is also a large amount of checking that has to be done (eg checking the differences between the models for different counties and highlighting any differences and then carrying out the required amendments to create a model for the new country).

This role would suit someone either new to or already in the IT field, Excel skills a plus. If this role is of interest to you, please forward your CV for an immediate interview.

    Oh Dear,

It looks like they think that Data Modelling and Data Entry are one and the same thing...

The job description sounds like something an intern might do though
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

True, it's a shame that they're only paying DE rates, however. I'd expect even interns to get a bit more than that...

Top marks for imagination in calling it data modelling. What they really mean is "entering data into a system that we haven't finished building and haven't completely worked out the rules of".

£10 ph is pretty good for Data Entry. I would suggest that just above minimum wage is the usual rate for DE work in the Midlands.

Last time I worked with a load of data entry people I was surprised to find that the experienced enterers were about 3 times quicker than the rookies, and got paid a lot more (but not 3 times more). And they're usually the coolest people in the building.
