    BBC Global Warming Scam

Peter Sissons is unhappy with the corporation’s coverage.
The £8billion pension fund (Your Money) is likely to come under close scrutiny over its commitment to promote a low-carbon economy while struggling to reverse an estimated £2billion deficit.

He said recently: “The corporation’s most famous interrogators invariably begin by accepting that ‘the science is settled’ when there are countless reputable scientists and climatologists producing work that says it isn’t. It is, in effect, BBC policy, enthusiastically carried out by the BBC’s environment correspondents, that those views should not be heard.

“I was not proud to be working for an organisation with a corporate mind so closed on such an important issue.”

Official BBC editorial policy governing how its correspondents should cover global warming was revealed after a member of the public wrote in: “I have heard reports that the BBC has decided not to broadcast any news or reports which disprove, disagree, or cast doubt on global warming theory. Could you provide some form of justification for this?”

In a reply dated October 26 last year, Stephanie Harris, Head of Accountability at BBC News, said: “BBC News takes the view that our reporting needs to be calibrated to take into account the scientific consensus that global warming is man-made.”

The BBC’s Pension Fund is a member of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change. So, 58,744 current and former employees of the BBC have their personal financial security linked to the emergence of a Carbon Economy… That places the Corporation very squarely in the camp that wants to see a global Carbon Market, it has linked itself to that market in a very hefty financial way.

Why has the BBC placed all its eggs in such a precarious basket? Well, for that you should ask Peter Dunscombe who is the BBC Head of Pension Investment… oh, and Chairman of the very same Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change.

That's a lot of bollox - their pension fund invests into many other companies in FTSE 100, most certainly into banks and going by this one would imagine BBC won't be exposing Norther Rocks near collapse etc.

BBC is probably one of a few old British instributions that are on one hand very well respected abroad and on another can actually make money from it by exporting stuff people want.

Can anyone else name any other such world class institution? NHS? Banking?

The main thing I don't like about BBC is that funding isn't done via general taxation, this TV license tax is a load of bollox and the way they collect it is totally unacceptable - threats worse then HMRC do, however out of all tax payer funded institutions they are certainly the best run and have world wide respect.

Then they would just be puppets of the government.

Rubbish - long term budget can be fixed the same way it is now, add 1% to income tax and stop this bulltulip with cheaper TV licenses for blind people. When I first came to UK I could not ******* believe you have to get a license to watch ******* TV.

The amount of money wasted in this tax collection, all those "TV detection vans", regular bill board advertising warning how they know that there is a house on our street without TV license (not mine).

Add 1% income tax to fund the BBC??? Are you serious? There's enough state control there already and enough taxes redirected from the stated purpose.

I contracted there several times, trimming down the waste would be a good move for starters.

I believe 1% to income tax is £2 bln of revenues which I also believe is about what BBC gets from TV license tax. If I am mistaken in any of these assumptions then please correct me.

That's another matter - they sure should save money and reduce budgets, however the way their primary budget right now gets funded is totally bizarre and wrong.

As I said - I think BBC is one of a handful of British institutions that are still not only highly respected abroad but also have revenue generation potential, ie: BBC actually exports stuff and brings money into this country. And unlike BAE they don't have to bribe foreign countries in order to sell them stuff. Name me any other such institution like BBC that exists right now in the UK, I can't see any.

                  P.S. Don't mention Page 3, it's a bit too local

BTW, for nouns, use practice / licence and for verbs it is practise / license.
